- Maurice Samuel Clifford, 82, of St. Louis, formerly of Olney, died at 11:21 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 1998, at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Hope Chapel at Crest Haven Cemetery in Claremont. There will be no visitation. Full military rites will be conducted by Olney veterans. Summers-Kistler Funeral. Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
Clifford was born May 21, 1915, in Richland County, the son of Carah W. and Beatrice (Farris) Clifford. He married Mildred McCaw March 14, 1942.
He was a United States WWII Army veteran and a retired accountant clerk. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, was a 50-year member of the American Legion, and was
a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, of Webster Groves, Mo.; one son, Maurice Samuel Clifford Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Tupelo, Miss.; one daughter, Anne McCaw Clifford, of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Christopher, Maureen and Paul; and one great-grandchild, Jordan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
