    • Delbert H. Runyon, 49, owner of Delbert Runyon Oil Producers, Inc., 209 North Fair Street, lifelong resident of Richland County and one of Olney's finest and most active citizens, died Friday at the Richland Memorial Hospital.

      He was born near Noble, IL on January 5, 1919, son of Harold H. and Della Stanley Runyon.

      He was a very active member of Olney Lodge No. 140, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, the Consistory of East St. Louis, the Center Shrine Club of Olney, was the Chairman of the Richland County Housing Authority, was a Past President of the Olney Petroleum Club, the Center Shrine Club, and the Olney Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Olney.

      Delbert was called upon often to spearhead many projects in this community, and was responsible for the success of those projects in the welfare of the county.

      Delbert is survived by two sons, Damon P. Runyon of Evansville, and Dale Michael Runyon, student at ERHS, two brothers, Robert L Runyon and Lenard L. Runyon, both of Noble; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Bonnie) McKnight of Noble and Mrs. David (Evelena) Brotherton of Taylorville, two grandchildren, and his father and step-mother, Harold and Effie Runyon of Noble.

      He was preceded in death by his mother, Della May Stanley Runyon, a brother, Donald, and a sister, Alice.

      Funeral services for Mr. Runyon will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of the Schaub Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Masonic Section of Crest Haven Memorial Park cemetery. Masonic funeral rites will be conducted at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
