  Dr. W. Morgan Newton of Columbia. S. C., died at Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL. Dr. Newton was born in Moline to Henry & Bessie Bailey Newton. He married Winifred Combs, who survives. He was a veterinarian & was on the faculty of the U. of I. and the University of South Carolina. He also served as Veterinary Medical Specialist at the William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veterans Administration Hospital in Columbia until his retirement in 1984. He was also a veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, William L. Newton; one daughter, Martha Poindexter; a brother, John Newton, two sisters, Mary Charlotte Campbell, and Frances Chatham, and one granddaughter. Funeral services were handled by the Dunbar Funeral Home in Columbia, S. C. Burial at Liberty Cemetery, Wakefield, IL. (Published Olney Daily Mail)
