- Elizabeth Jane Blair, was born in Lawrence County, Ind. April 11, 1848. She came with her parents, Jonathan and Letty Blair, to Clay County, when about six years of age.
She united with the Hoosier Prairie Baptist church at the age of 14 years. On March 28, 1867 she was married to Joseph Odell Burton, and has resided in Flora nearly thirty years, during which time she has been a member of the Baptist church here.
She leaves to mourn her loss, four children Alva A. Tate of Lawrenceville Ill., S. H. Burton of Washinglon. Ind., Joseph L. Burton, and Mrs. Sarah C. Nichols of Flora, also two brothers Stephen Blair of Cripple Creek, Colo., John H. Blair of Fort Smith, Arkansas and two sisters, Mrs. Jermlma Anderson of Ozark Ark., and Anna Blalr of Flora.
She went to that beautiful home on March 3rd. 1913, aged 64 years, 11 mo., 22 days.
Funeral services were conducted March 5th at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church, by Rev. Harry A. Belton, assisted by Rev. J.W. Flint of the Methodist church.
