      May, 1948, died; Mrs. Lucy McDowell Blackwell, 85, on Saturday at Pattie A. Clay Hospital in Richmond; she was the daughter of Deliah Hunt and Thomas McDowell and the wife of Dr. James Benjamine "J.B." Blackwell (see 5 March 1948 for survivors); survived by seven sons: James H. of South Irvine, Eugene of Winchester, Willie of Rice Station, Lewis and Emanuel of Witt Springs, Forest of Irvine and Wesley Bloackwell of Detroit, MI; three daughters: Mrs. Eva Parks of Richmond, Mrs. Veanna Brown of Witt Springs and Mrs. H.B. Crouch of Washington, D.C., one brother: Samuel McDowell of Nicholasville, one sister: Mrs. Finney Green of Richmond; burial at Sand Hill.
