- Delbert E. Volk, 93, of Olney, died at 6:48 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Mr. Volk was born August 31, 1916, in Jasper County, the son of William and Sophia (Dorn) Volk.
He married Coletta Spitz on April 22, 1941, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. She survives.
He was retired after 30 years with CIPS. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney. He was a member of Olney Elks and Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Volk is survived by his wife, Coletta Volk, of Olney; daughter, Sister Linda Volk, of Donaldson, Ind.; daughter, Marcia DiAnn Oris and her husband, Richard, of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Nancy Lane and her husband, Bud, of Fenton, Mo.; daughter, Carla Goss and her husband, Mark, of Claremont; daughter-in-law, Nancy Volk, of Olney; son-in-law, Neil Ochs, of Olney; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Dallmier and her husband, Lorraine, of Willow Hill; brothers, Odilo Volk, of Canton, Ohio, and Gilbert Volk and his wife, Pat, of Ingraham; sisters-in-law, Mildred Volk, of Olney, and Petronilla Volk, of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophia Volk; son, Larry Volk; daughters, Madonna Volk and Mary Cheryl Ochs; sisters and brothers, Urban Volk, Annette Weber, Kathryn Fehrenbacher, Neil Volk, Reverend William Volk and Joseph Volk; and in-laws, Allean Volk, Joseph Weber, Harold Fehrenbacher and Rosemary Volk.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney with Rev. Father Jerry Wirth officiating.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney.
