Funeral services at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Burial in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Masonic Rites by the Newton Masonic Lodge #216.
Benjamin Fuller Franke better know as "Fud" was born on January 9, 1922 in Newton, IL the son of John Fuller and Maud Christina (Bruner) Franke. Fud was a businessman on the square in Newton for over 50 years being owner/operator of Franke's Recreations.
Fud served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was awarded with the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was life member of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion and served as Commander for 12 years. He was a member of the Newton VFW where had served as Past Quarter Master; Newton Eagles; 40 and 8 in Effingham; Effingham Moose; Newton Masonic Lodge; 32 degree mason and member of the Ainad Temple; Jasper County Shrine Club and the NRA.
Fud is survived by his loving companion, Margie J. Cardeso of Newton.
Fud was preceded in death by his parents.
