Bob was an Air Force veteran who served his country during an eight-year-long enlistment. Bob worked in equipment installation for Verizon. His hobbies include a lifetime avid interest in coon hunting, and he enjoyed hunting just about everything: deer, squirrel and rabbit. Bob was a member of the Olney American Legion also.
Bob was a dedicated husband and father, and will be dearly missed by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley, of rural Albion; daughters Cynthia May (Micheal) Shaffer of Olney, Illinois and Vera Joann "Jo" Whyde of Bridgeport, Illinois and one grandson and namesake, Robert Lee Whyde.
Bob also leaves behind a host of family and friends who have been a tremendous support to him and his immediate family during his decline in health.
