    • Billie Gene Snell, 74, died at 12:16 P.M. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

      Mr. Snell was born Oct. 5, 1938 in Clay City, the son of Lindell and Magdlena "Maggie" (Smith) Snell. He was employed at J. & L. Oilfield Supply in Clay City, was a member of Clay City Christian Church, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fa.

      Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kurt and Cara Snell of Clay City; one daughter, Kim Dugan of Flora; and a sister, Virginia Moseley of Clay City; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

      Preceding him in death were his parents and one twin brother, Bobbie Dean Snell.

      Funeral services were held Friday, March 8, at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City, with Minister Darrel Brandon officiating. Burial was in Clay City Cemetery.

      Memorials were to be made to the Clay City Christian Church or Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.

      He married Mabel Franklin & they later divorced.

      He was employed at J & L Oilfield Supply, Clay City.

      He is survived by: Son, Kurt Snell
      Daughter, Kim Dugan
      Sister, Virginia Moseley
      Eight Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren
      Several Nieces and Nephews

      He was preceded in death by his Parents and Twin Brother, Bobbie Dean

      Billie was an ardent St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
