Notes - Ralph attended school until the 3d grade, quitting to help support his family. He used to run "bootleg" whiskey during prohibition. Most of his jobs were driving trucks and working in the oil fields. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodges in Flora, Clay County, Illinois.
In 1940, Ralph family are living at 2718 North 11th Street, St. Louis, Missouri (1940 census). Ralph is working is a machine operator at a mattress factory.
In 1942, Ralph and Goldie are living at H32 West Duncan, Columbus, Ohio (1942 City Directory , Columbus, Ohio, page 173). Ralph is working for the National Mattress Company.
After a lengthy illness, Ralph died of cancer at 6 a.m. on 23 February 1987 in his home in Clay City, Illinois
