  Robert L. Payne, 69, of Flora died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. Robert was born May 30, 1935 in Richland County to Owen Lee & Mary Sharp Payne. He was married to Lois Marie Denton in 1978 and she preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Ann Hatcher in 1979. Mr. Payne was of the Baptist faith. He was also an auto body repairman. Survivors include: wife, Ruth Ann; sons Rodney, Troy, Robin, Dale Hatcher, Mike Hatcher, Leon Hatcher; Lisa Payne, Loretta Payne, Joann Coble; brother, Leon Sharp; sister, Dorothy Jean McWilliams; 21 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a brother and a sister. Services were held at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home with interment in Hanna Cemetery at Noble. Gravesite Details Son of Owen Lee and Mary Sharp Payne. He married Lois Marie Denton in 1978. He later married Ruth Ann Hatcher in 1979.
