- Maxine Mitchell, 79, of Noble, died at 3:05 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rollie Sarver and Dale Parker officiating.
Burial will be in Hanna Cemetery in rural Noble.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on June 23, 1924, in Wayne County, the daughter of Elmer and Emma (Gray) Thatcher. She married James Lawrence Mitchell on June 23, 1941, in St. Louis, Mo. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2004.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by three sons, Leroy Mitchell and his wife, Frances, of Noble, Wayne Mitchell and his wife, Loretta, of Noble, and Perry Mitchell and his wife, Regina, of Claremont; eight grandchildren, Kevin Mitchell and his wife, LaNae, Buck Mitchell and his wife, Becky, Shawna Hill and her husband, John, and Kendra, Kent, Brandon, Brock and Bryce Mitchell; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Dylan, Cody and Haley Mitchell; and a sister, Bernadine Taylor, of Flora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Aileen Lewis, and two infant brothers, Leslie and Ralph.
