- George Fryburger, 95, of Noble, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Richland Nursing and Rehab.
George was born April 21, 1928 in Noble, Illinois, the son of Louis Fryburger and Emma (Barnett) Fryburger. George married Maxine (Mitchell) on June 18, 1956 and were side by side for their 67 years of marriage.
George was a lifelong carpenter and farmer. He served in the US Army, sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge on his 21st birthday to serve in Korea. George enjoyed woodworking and making furniture, which he often gifted to his many friends. He and his wife, Maxine, always had a big garden to share with others. George was steadfast in his faith, and he made sure to take time to read his bible every day. He always loved to help others and his home was open to everyone. Most of all, George enjoyed being surrounded by his friends and family. George's large smile and huge heart will be missed by all those that knew him.
George is survived by his wife, Maxine Fryburger; daughter, Deborah Hanson and husband Richard of Morris, IL; son, Brad Fryburger and wife Susan of Olney; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Wolanik of Crystal Lake, IL, Shelly (Phillip) Ahn of Chicago, IL, Kyle (Valeria) Hanson of La Jolla, CA, Ellen (Tony) Brown of Noble, Emily (James) Schoonover of Olney, and Jonathan (Ashley) Fryburger of Noble; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held for George at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning two hours before service time at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Hanna Cemetery in Noble.
