    Mr. Hance was born in Noble March 30, 1905, the son of charles and Dora Denning Hance. He married Maude Galloway May 18, 1929. She died in 1985.

    He was a retired custodian for the West Richland School District. He was a member of the Noble Methodist Church and was a 50 year plus member of the Noble Masonic Lodge.

    Surviving are three sisters, Evelyn Delonshaw, Georgia Leefers, and Wanda Fessler.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and three brothers.

    Funeral services were held at the Noble Chapel of Hosselton, Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Noble.

    Burial was in North Freedom Cemetery in rural Noble.

    Mr. Hance was born March 5, 1921, in Noble, the son of Charles J. and Dora Denning Hance. He married Beulah Scherer Dec. 20, 1947, in Olney and she survives. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a charter member of Martin Courtney VFW Post 4835 in Creve Coeur. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 and the Caterpillar Retirees Club.

    Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Pauletta) Williams, Olney; Mrs. Charles (Brenda) Penney, Houston, Texas; Mrs. James (Cynthia) Deaton, Washington; and Mrs. Michael (Gail) Ball, East Peoria; a brother, Leslie Hance, Noble; four sisters, Mrs. Stella. Smith and Mrs. Louis (Evelyn) Delonshaw, both of Clay City; Mrs. Erlloyd (Georgia) Leefers, Argenta; and Mrs. Kim (Wanda) Fessler,
    Noble; and nine grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

    Mrs Fessler was born on April 25, 1927 in Noble, the daughter of Charles Hance and Dora Denning. She married Howard Fessler on October 27, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2000.

    She is survived by one sister, Georgia Eloise Leefers, of Argenta.

She went to school in Clay City, Illinois. She married Richard Earl Franklin on April 18, 1948 in Henderson, KT. She was an instructor in ceramics at Odessa College. She owned the Ceramic Shop for 42 years. Norma is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Genelle Hance, her son Robert "Bobby" Franklin and her son in law Guy Hutson.

    Funeral Services will be at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

    Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Cynthia Hedgepeth and Trisha Hutchison; two sons, Steven and James Tolliver; one sister, Norma Franklin; one brother, Roger Hance; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Ruth Miller; a brother, Jim Hance; and one great-granddaughter.

    Funeral services were held at Summers-Kistler funeral Home with burial in Clay City Cemetery.

    Roger Dale Hance, 70, of Clay City, died on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.

    Roger was born on May 5, 1950 in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Harry James Hance and Norma Genelle (Abbott). He married Deborah (Shock) on June 9, 1968 in Clay City, and she survives.

    Roger started Hance's Paint and Drywall over 36 years ago with his dad, and it has gone on for three generations, currently being managed by his sons.

    He loved to coon hunt with his dogs and fish with his family and friends. Roger loved spending time with his family, and he will be missed by all those that knew him.

    Roger is survived by his wife; Sons, Kelly (Amy) Hance and Kyle (Ronda) Hance; Grandchildren, Keenan (Lucy) Hance, Kaden Hance, Bryce Hance, Trenton Hance; Great Grandson, Everest Hance; several brother and sister in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

    Cremation Rites were accorded.
