    Eugene (Gene) Sharp, 81 went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. Gene was born to Roy and Wilma Stratton Sharp on November 10, 1939.

    He was a member of Clay City High School Class of 1958.

    He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching dirt track and NASCAR races, reading Western Books, spending time with his family and friends, and life on the Sharp Family Farm in Clay City, IL

    Gene is survived by his wife of 40 years, Evelyn of Springfield, MO and 7 children, Doug Sharp, Cheryl Brian (Jim), Rusty Sharp all of Effingham, IL, Tom Johnston ( Leslie) of Halltown, MO, Clay (Kim) Watson, Kellie (Fred) James and Ralph Johnston Watson (Stacey) all of Springfield, MO. Brothers, Robert of Princeton, IL , James (Puddin) of Queen Creek, Arizona, Jackie (Linda) of Flora , Sisters, Thelma (Sis) Fry of Wooster, Ohio, Marcella (Sally) (Arthur) Ellis of Creve Coure, IL , Phyllis Muse (Gary) of Cisco, IL , Carolyn (Susie) (Steve) Snyder of Bloomington, IL and Debra (Don) Nix of Salem, IL, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Wilma Sharp, Brothers Bill Sharp, Kenneth (Buster, Bud) Sharp, Tom Sharp, Sister Dorothy Browning, Nephews: Christopher Sharp, Jason Sharp, David Browning, Parker Webster, Granddaughter Dessarae (Dessie) Winchester Sharp. Brothers in Law, Dale Fry, Aubrey Browning, Jack Vannote, Sisters in Law, Dorothy Sharp, Phyllis Sharp and his grandparents.
