    Eldon D. Colclasure, 90, died Feb. 17, 2013 in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was born Sept. 13, 1922 in Louisville, IL to Orion Clyde and Lillian Belle Slattor Colclasure.

    He was married to Roberta Brown in Poplar Bluff, MO on July 11, 1949.

    He was a member of the First christian Church.

    He served in the U. S. Air Force during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam. He was a retired school teacher; a member of Toast Masters; was a musician, author, ham radio operator; and enjoyed watch making and making mandolins.

    He is survived by three sons, Rea, Jon D., and Dale Colclasure; a daughter, Ruth Ann Donaldson; two brothers, George W. and Ford M. Colclasure; a sister, Mary Lou Scamehorn; fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

    The funeral was at noon at Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home chapel in Poplar Bluff, MO. with burial in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO.

    Military Service:
    Entered active service as a draftee on 19 January 1943 at Chicago, Illinois. Completed basic training and attended the Signal Corps School at Camp Crowder, Missouri, qualifying for the military occupational specialty (MOS) of Radio Intercept Opeperator (738). Assigned to and served with Squadron A, 462nd Army Air Forces Base Unit engaged in Signal Aviation training at Camp Pinedale, California. Honorably discharged to re-enlist in the regular army the next day on 2 November 1945 at that station. Departed the Continental U.S. on 9 April 1946 bound for the Pacific Theater of Operations. Assigned to and served as a Radio Mechanic (MOS 754) with the 952nd Radio Intelligence Squadron in occupied Japan. Honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant on 26 January 1947 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, The American Campaign Medal, The WWII Victory Medal and The Army of Occupation Medal (Japan).
