    He graduated from Olney Township High School in 1926 and at an early age worked at the Olney Daily Mail as carrier, printer and later a reporter. He attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, majoring in history and political science. He taught in Richland County schools at one time and later taught local history several terms at Olney Central College. He was knowledgeable on the subject of local area history and was known as Richland County's "unofficial historian".

    In 1933 he was elected to the Richland County Board of Supervisors and later was a social worker with the Illinois Emergency Relief Commission. On June 15, 1938 he was appointed supt. of public aid and retired in 1967 after 32 years of service. Upon his retirement, he became a reporter-feature writer for the Olney Daily Mail, retiring in March of 1975.

    In 1973, Mr. Michels was elected to the Olney Township Board of Auditors and served 4 1/2 years. An active member of the First United Methodist Church of Olney, he taught the mens class for several years and was formerly on the administrative board. He has also been a lay church speaker in Richland and Jasper counties.

    Mr. Michels was a charter member of Calhoun Ruritan Club, West Salem Masonic Lodge No. 886 and Richland Lodge No. 180, IOOF, Olney.

    Elizabeth Lorraine Worrell, 57, of Tuscon, Arizona, formerly of Richland County, passed away Monday Jan. 26, 1976 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Tuscon.

    The body is being returned to the Summers Funeral Home where services will be held. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home, with pastor Robert W. Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, south of Noble.

    Mrs. Worrell was born July 28, 1919, the daughter of Roy Michels and Anna Childers Michels. She was united in marriage to Roscoe Worrell, March 6, 1937, and he preceded her in death June 21, 1975.

    Surviving are five sons; Richard Worrell of Noble, Gerald and Michael Worrell of Westmont, Charles Worrell of Apple Valley, Minn., and Roscoe Worrell Jr. of Woodridge, one sister; Mrs. Melvin (Helen) Stanley of Lacon. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren.

    Mrs. Worrell was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.

    Terry is survived by his wife, Tina Stanley of Noble; son, Terry Robert Stanley; son, Lewis Anthony Stanley; daughter, Amanda Junker-Wilson; step-children, Alexandria Zack, Jeremiah Zack, David Zack, and Tina Bryant; father, Melvin Stanley; sister, Elaine Ducamp; brother, Melvin (Tammie) Stanley Jr.; brother-in-law, Charles Young; previous wife, Becky Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, John Stanley.

    Notes:

    Though her recent years were scarred with cancer, she did not allow it to define her. She spent her days with grace and generosity, her strength and beauty growing with every passing day. Tera wore many hats, her favorite of which were "Mommy," "wife," "daughter," "sister," and "friend" and she performed each role with an enthusiasm that could not be feigned or imitated. The loves of her life, Jimmy and Emma, were her pride and joy and she was always willing to share a story or one of the anecdotes that often come with husbands and young children. She made lists, she lost lists, she wholly agreed with her mother's favorite quote of "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail" but was willing to pick up and go if someone was in need, or even just wanted her company. She loved sushi, tween novels, movies based on tween novels, Frye boots, and General Hospital. Tera enjoyed working as a senior paralegal for Dickenson Gilroy, LLC in Alpharetta, Ga., and often boasted of how fortunate she was to work with such a wonderful group of individuals; they felt the same of her.

    Tera was a 1995 graduate of Princeton Community High School in Princeton, Ind., and a 1999 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
