He also was deployed to France, Germany, Korea and numerous other military installations throughout the United States. He worked as an accounts payable manager at Champion Labs in West Salem from 1981 until he retired in 2002. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olney as well as a member of the church's Joy class.
