Clarence Cornwell, 66, rural Hazelton, died this morning in Good Samaritian Hospital following a brief illness. Retired from self-employment as a logger, he was a member of the United Pentecostal church in Vincennes and a veteran of World War II. He was born Aoril 3, 1920, in Missouri to William and Mary Cornwell. Surviving are his wife, Pauline ( Goldman ) Cornwell; six sons, Jack of New Harmony, Robert of Mount Comfort, Virgil of Snyder, Texas, James of Claremont, Ill., and David and Clarence Jr. of Hazelton; four daughters; Carol Ledet of Port Arthur, Texas, Jeannette Pond and Joetta Bottoms of Vincennes and Mary Arthur of Spencer; a brother, Raymond, East Prairie, Mo; 33 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son is deceased. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Flummerfelt-Goodwin Funeral Home.
