    Notes:

    A 68 year old Olney man, Harl Petty, who was born in Mt. Erie, died at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney following a lengthy illness.

    He was born in Mt. Erie, the son of William F. & Mary Blakley Petty.
    He married Alta Huston in 1934.

    He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Leone Totten, of Mt. Erie, and numerous other relatives.

    Funeral arrangements were handled by an Olney Funeral home.

    Harl Petty, 68, well known resident of Olney, passed away last night at the Richland Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. The family residence is at 405 W. St. John Street.

    Mr. Petty was a native of Wayne County and was born at Mt. Erie the son of William F. Petty and Mary Blakley Petty. He was married to Alta Huston on November 5, 1934. He operated a cafe in Olney for several years.

    Surviving are his wife, Alta, and the following children: Harl Petty Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyo., William D. Petty of Claremont, Clinton Petty of Great Bend, Kansas, Mrs. Patricia Ann Jackson and Gerald Petty, both of Pleasantville, N. Y., Alta Lou Petty, at home and Mrs. Harla Sue Lenear of Olney Rt. 3. There are 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are the following sisters: Mrs. Jennie Bentz of Olney, Mrs. Leone Totten of Mt. Erie, Mrs. Lillian McCleary of Akron, Ohio and Mrs. Sarah L. Best of Granite City.

    He has been preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Nellie Taylor, Mrs. Ina Newton, Mary Petty, Raul Petty, Adlai Petty and Grover Petty.

    Funeral arrangements are being completed at the Summers-Rainey Funeral Home.

    Notes:

    Gerald "Butch" Petty, 60, of Ocala, Fla., died at 5 p.m. Monday, June2, 2003, at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala, Fla. Services will be held Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home in Ocala, Fla. His remains will be returned to Olney for his final resting place with his parents and one sister.

    Mr. Petty was born on March 3, 1943, in Olney, the son of Harl and Alta May Petty. He moved to New York before settling down in Ocala in 1995. He was a retired automotive mechanic and was employed at Silver Springs Park until his death.
    Mr. Petty is survived by a loving companion of 19 years, Geraldine Hursell; a son, Gary Petty, of New York; three daughters, Jennifer Lubjli, of Orlando, Fla., Tracey Larque and stacy O'Toole, both of New York; two brothers, William "Bill" Petty and his wife, Neva, of Noble, and Clint Petty and his wife, Donna, of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Sue Lenear and her husband, Virgil, of Olney; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

    Sue Lenear, 76, of Olney, passed away January 7, 2022 at her residence.

    Sue Lenear was born July 14, 1945 in Richland Co., IL to Harl and Alta Mae (Huston) Petty. She married Virgil P. Lenear on June 7, 1964 in Richland Co., IL.

    Sue enjoyed reading, cooking, and making crafts with her family and grandchildren. She also was an avid animal lover. She worked for many years as an office manager at Richland Memorial Hospital Outpatient Clinic. Sue loved babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    She was an extremely loyal friend and welcomed everyone into her home and made them a part of her family. Sue's generosity and kindness will be deeply missed by all those that knew her.

    Sue Lenear is survived by husband of 57 years, Virgil P. Lenear of Olney; son, Micheal Lenear of Olney; daughter, Tammy Ochs and husband James of Claremont; daughter, Martha Pillsbury and husband James of MI; son, Matthew Lenear of Olney; grandchildren, Mandy Martin, Kelsie Barnes, Victoria Lenear, Macy Sorrell, Quentin Pillsbury, Anthony Ochs, Alex Lenear, and Tianna Pillsbury; great grandchildren, GraceLynn Martin, Zachary Sorrell, Jonalyn Martin, Madeline Sorrell, Carson Barnes, and Aria Lenear; brother, Clinton Petty of KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. .

    She was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Gerald "Butch" Petty, Harl Petty Jr., and William Petty; and sisters, Patricia Jackson and Alta Lou Petty.

    Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on January 12, 2022 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A visitation will be one hour before service time at the funeral home.

    Interment will take place on January 12, 2022 at Crest Haven Memorial Park.
