    Notes:

    Eva Gibson, 92, of Noble, died at 6:36 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

    Funeral services were Sunday at North Freedom Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Thomas and Glen Fehrenbacher officiating. Burial was in North Freedom Cemetery.

    Mrs. Gibson was born on May 13, 1913 in Noble, the daughter of Levi and Zadie (McDowell) Fulk. She married John B. Gibson on September 18, 1929 in Vincennes, Ind. He preceded her in death on January 14, 983.

    She was a member of North Freedom Baptist Church in northern Richland County. She was a doll collector and had as many a 2,000 dolls at one time. She loved to make and repair dolls of all kinds. She was a loving wife, Homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all who knew her.

    Mrs. Gibson is survived by four sons, John B. Gibson of Comer, Ga., K. D. Gibson and his wife, Kathy of Noble, Jim Gibson of Olney and Dave Gibson and his wife, Elaine of Noble; daughter, Ruth Travous and her husband, Bob of Olney; two brothers, Dale Fulk and his wife, Charlene of Noble and Carl Fulk and his wife, Erma of Noble; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by both parents; husband, John; three sons, Joe, Bert and Frank; three brothers, Vern, Omer and Perry; four sisters, Inez, Ina, Viola and Goldie Ann; one granddaughter, Nancy; and one daughter-in-law, Eloise.

    Memorials may be made to North Freedom Church.

    John B. Gibson, 85, of Olney passed away November 10, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

    John was born to John Brewer and Eva (Fulk) Gibson on September 26 1930. He married Mary Newberry on April 19,1958 and she survives.

    John grew up on a farm in Richland County during the depression era and was the oldest of eight children. John was a Navy Veteran having served during the Korean War. John was a people person and enjoyed visiting with others and making new friends. He was a lifelong salesperson and sold numerous products for large corporations.

    Later in life he owned and operated several businesses. He was an avid reader, particularly books about history but most of all John loved spending time with his family. He will be missed by all those that knew him. John was a member of the North Freedom Baptist Church in Noble and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

    He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Gibson of Olney; son, John M. Gibson and wife Debbie of Canton, Mississippi; son, Keith Gibson of Juliann of Bethalto, Illinois; grandchildren, Amber (Steven) Crouch, Amy Gibson, Jillian Gibson, Kyleigh Gibson, John D. (Sarah Anne) Gibson, Jacob (fiancee Rachel Alexander) Gibson; great grandchildren, Olivia Gibson and Dominic Gibson; brothers, Jim Gibson and Dave Gibson; sister, Ruth (Bob) Travous; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kelly Gibson, Bert Gibson, Joe Gibson, and Frank Gibson.

    Visitation will be held Thursday 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home, Olney. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 am at the North Freedom Church, 4784 N Freedom Rd., Noble, IL, with burial in the North Freedom Cemetery.

    Obituary
    Kathryn J. Gibson, 77, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her residence.



    Kathryn was born November 2, 1945 in Gilmer, Texas, the daughter of Benjamin Thomas and Donna Jean (Sullivan) Martin. She married Kelly Gibson on April 2, 1966, and he preceded her in death on September 17, 2006.



    Kathy loved music and took pleasure in going to Gospel concerts with her twin sister, Margaret. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Kathy enjoyed traveling to places like the Smoky Mountains and the panhandle of Florida. Kathy worked as an X-Ray tech for a mobile X-Ray Lab. She was very proud of her career and did it for several years. Kathy was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.



    Kathryn is survived by her sons, Bryan Gibson and wife Sherri of Calhoun; Marty Gibson and wife Beth of Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Steven Gibson of Calhoun and Dr. Maddie (Ryan) Evans of Portland, OR; brother, Charles "Bud" (Linda) Martin of Longview, TX; and several nieces and nephews.



    She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Kelly Gibson; sister, Margaret Jenkins; and infant brother, Roger Martin.



    A graveside funeral service for Kathryn will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at North Freedom Cemetery with a visitation beginning 30 minutes prior at the cemetery.



    Interment will immediately follow the service.



    Kistler Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Frank Clifford Gibson was born in Richland County, Illinois, March 13, 1948. He departed this life suddenly, tragically, on the afternoon of September 7, 1972, at the age of twenty-four years, five months, and twenty-five days.

    Frank accepted Christ in his mid-teens at Freedom Baptist Church, and quietly he lived his religion.

    Frank Gibson and Janis Read were wed at Freedom July 27, 1969. They were a most devoted couple; their marriage seemed to be a three-year honeymoon.

    Frank was the seventh son of John and Eva Gibson. He was preceded in death, April 6, 1957, by his brothers Joe and Bert.

    Frank is survived by his wife, Janis, by his parents, John and Eva, by brothers,
    John, Jim, Dave, and Kelly Gibson and their families, and by one sister, Ruth Gibson
    Travous and her husband Bob, and their family. Frank is survived also by his wife's parents, Ray and Maxine Read, by her brothers, Mike and his wife, and Matt, and by her sister, Jamie Read. From his ninth to his twenty-first year, Frank shared his home with nephew and niece. Danny and Nancy Gibson, and with numerous foster brothers and sisters.

    A service veteran, an Air Force Sergeant, Frank was a young man of sterling character.

    He was a good boy.
