    Services for Elmo (Jim) Stine, 70, Clay City, were at the Cardascio Funeral Home, Clay City.

    Burial with full military rites was at Clay City Cemetery. Bro. Fred Gordon officiated.

    He died at 10:55 p.m. Friday at his home.

    Mr. Stine was born June 17, 1906 in Wayne County. He was a member of the Flora VFW and a veteran of World War II.

    Surviving are his wife, Beulah (Toots) Wright Stine;a son, Robert Lee Stine, Flora; and a half brother, Gayland Pettyjohn, Dayton, Ohio.

    Military Service:
    Entered active service as a draftee on March 15, 1944 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Selected for the Coast Artillery Corps, completed basic training, and qualified in the military occupational specialty of Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Crewman (MOS 601). Departed the Continental U.S. on March 7, 1945 bound for the European Theater of Operations. Assigned to and fought with Battery C, 487th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion in the Central Europe Campaign. Honorably discharged as a Private First Class on November 7, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star, and the WWII Victory Medal.

    Robert Lee "Bobby" Stine, 76, of Flora, IL died at 11:07 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.

    He was born February 23, 1936 in Wayne County, IL to Elmo "Jim" Stine and Beulah "Toots" (Wright) Stine. He married Sandra K. Kroeger on June 6, 1965 in Flora. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2010.

    He worked at Flora International Shoe Factory and Clay County Highway Department and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Flora.

    Bobby enjoyed playing country music on his guitar and attending the Elm River Chowder in Wayne County.

    He is survived by a son: Galen Stine; 2 aunts: Florence "Dot" Dunlap and Linda Wright; 4 grandchildren: Robert, Nicholas, Galen, Cassie; and a host of cousins.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

    A graveside service for Bobby Stine were held at Clay City Cemetery.

    Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Memorial donations may be in the form of donations to the family for their expenses.

    A graveside service for Bobby Stine will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Clay City Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Sandra (daughter of Kroeger, Edward Karl and HAYNES, Imogene Lucille) was born on 8 Jan 1941 in Alton, Madison County, Illinois; died on 11 Mar 2010 in Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham, Effingham County, Illinois; was buried on 15 Mar 2010 in Clay City Cemetery, Clay City, Clay County, Illinois.
