    Notes:

    Owen L. Payne, 74, of Olney, formerly of Clay City, died Monday night at Burgin Nursing Manor in Olney.

    He was born in Noble July 26, 1903, son of Thomas and Sarah Payne. On Dec. 26, 1928, he married Mary Elizabeth Sharp in Noble.

    Surviving are his wife, Mary of Olney; two sons, Robert of Flora and Leon of Louisville; a daughter,Mrs. Dorothy McWilliams of Olney; two sisters, Mrs.Betty Sharp of Flora and Mrs. Tressie Murray. 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Noble Chapel of the Cardascio Funeral Home, with burial in the Hanna Cemetery.

    Dorothy Jean McWilliams, 79, of Olney, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at her residence at Emerald Glen.

    Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Beam officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.

    Mrs. McWilliams was born October 31, 1931, in Richland County, the daughter of Owen and Mary (Sharp) Payne. She married Van T. McWilliams on January 11, 1963, in Salem. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1987.

    She was a nurses aide at Burgin Manor in Olney.

    Mrs. McWilliams is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Kaye O'Dell and her husband, Jerry, of Noble; daughter, Mary Jean O'Dell and her husband, Larry, of Flora; son, Vernal Cantrell, of Olney; son, Rusty Cantrell and his wife, Lisa, of Olney; daughter-in-law, Linda Cantrell, of Olney; brother, Leon Sharp and his wife, Glenda, of Louisville; grandchildren, Marla and Derek Royse, Gary and Beth Cantrell, Julie and Jerry Doan, Melissa and Jason Cantrell, Jesse and Jessica Cantrell, Jody Cantrell and Terry, Brad and Tina Stanley, Chad Stanley, Dale and Amy Pate, Amy O'Dell and Rob, Christopher O'Dell, Cory O'Dell, and Clota and Chris Ellerman; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Van T. McWilliams, parents, Owen and Mary Payne; son, Don Cantrell; brother, Robert Payne; grandchildren, Scotty and Laurie; and two great-grandchildren.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, a brother and a sister.

    Services were held at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home with interment in Hanna Cemetery at Noble.

    Lisa Payne, age 66, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday evening, November 21, 2020, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

    She was born October 20, 1954, in Clay City, Illinois, the daughter of Robert L. and Lois M. (Denton) Payne.

    Lisa had worked at Kern Manufacturing for a number of years. She was a member of the Trinity Full Gospel Church in Cisne and her church was very important to her. Lisa enjoyed crafts and sewing.

    She is survived by a daughter: Shanna (Tony) Smith; two granddaughters: Breanna (Adam) Stone and Savhanna Smith; two great-grandchildren: Warrick and Penelope Stone; siblings: Rodney (Debbie) Payne, Robin Payne, Troy Payne, and Loretta Payne; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

    She was preceded in death by her parents.

    A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Rodney Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Hanna Cemetery, Noble. Visitation will be 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

    Memorial donations are suggested to Cisne Trinity Full Gospel Church and will be accepted through the funeral home.

    Jodi L. Morgan, 41, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.



    Jodi was born June 5, 1981 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Howard "Rusty" Cantrell and Lisa (Fiscus) Cantrell. She married Patrick Morgan on April 10, 2015 in Watseka, Illinois, and he survives.

    Jodi was a very smart, loving, and caring individual. She loved her family, especially her children, and she also loved her dog, Cooler. Jodi enjoyed listening to music and going camping. She also enjoyed good times with friends and family, especially hanging out with her brothers.

    Jodi is survived by her husband, Pat Morgan of Olney; son, Charles Workman of Olney; father, Rusty Cantrell; brothers, Jason and Jesse Cantrell.

    She was preceded in death by her mother and daughter, Paige Workman.
