    CHARLESTON - Doris H. Easley, 88, of Charleston, formerly of Clay City, died Sunday (Aug. 6, 2000) at her residence.

    Private family services will be at a later date.

    She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in Clay City, the daughter of John D. and Hattie M. Brissenden Bones I. She married Gale H. Easley in 1933. He died in 1971.

    Surviving are one son, Gerald Easley of Gold Hill, Ore.; one daughter, Carolyn Gail McKee of Charleston; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    She was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

    Mrs. Easley was a homemaker and member of the Clay City Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

    Doris married EASLEY, Gale H. in 1933. Gale (son of Easley, Elmer Elsworth and Hutchinson, Mary Ethel) was born on 28 Feb 1901 in Dix, Jefferson County, Illinois; died on 3 Jul 1971 in O'Fallon, St. Clair County, Illinois; was buried in Clay City Cemetery, Clay City, Clay County, Illinois.     Carolyn Gail Easley McKee, 77, of Charleston, IL died Oct. 15, 2011 at Gowin Parc in Mattoon.

    Mrs. McKee was born October 27, 1933 in Clay City, the daughter of Gale H. and Doris H. Bones Easley. She married Donald L. McKee, they were married 56 years.

    She was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and began her teaching career in the Petersburg and Athens school districts. She was later employed by Oakland and Kansas school districts until her retirement in 1989.

    She loved animals of all kinds, was a gifted gardener, a gourmet cook, an avid bridge player, and an excellent seamtress. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends.

    Survivors include her husband; a son, Kevin; a daughter, Cheryl McKee; three granddaughters; and a brother, Gerald Easley.

    In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated. Private family services will be held at a later date.

    Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association.

    Adams Funeral Home was in charge.
