Mrs. Faye Franklin, age 85, of Flora, IL, passed away at 1:52 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2014, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center, in Carmi, IL.

Faye was born August 6, 1928, in Clay County, IL, to Samuel & Katie (Montgomery) Frank. On December 12, 1947, she married Nolan Franklin in Kentucky.

She and Nolan made their home in Clay County, where she was a homemaker and devoted mother.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by two sons: Dana & wife Janet Franklin and Lonnie & wife Beverly Franklin; five grandchildren: Tonia Lamont, Mary Dowen, Lonnie Franklin II, Julie Haupt, Abigail Franklin; two sisters: Mary Hulsey and Nadine Moseley; thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Nolan Franklin, who preceded her September 27, 2009; four brothers; Richard, Galen, Sam Jr. & Berlin Frank, and five sisters: Alberta Gumbel, Bonnie Gill, Blanche Crouse, Shirley Schnautz and Catherine Milner.

Funeral services for Mrs. Franklin took place at Byrd & Kohn Funeral Home.

Interment followed at Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs, Il.

Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the Dillman Cemetery.

Naomi married Franklin, James Nolan on 12 Dec 1947 in Kentucky. James (son of Franklin, Baldy and Noll, Josephine) was born on 22 Sep 1925 in Sailor Springs, Clay County, Illinois; died on 27 Sep 2009 in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham, Effingham County, Illinois; was buried on 1 Oct 2009 in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs, Clay County, Illinois.
