    Notes:

Gordon Edward Clevy, 79, formerly of Claremont, died of COVID at Helia Healthcare of Olney, Thanksgiving Morning of 2021.

Gordon was born on Halloween, 1942, to Georgia (Nease) Guinnee and John "Ike" Clevy. He was raised by his Uncle, Charles Clevy and wife Marie (Walters) of Claremont.

Gordon enjoyed many hobbies: welding (he once changed his Toyota into a toy truck), painting, gardening, mushroom hunting and he especially enjoyed talking with his friends on CB and he had a love for dogs. Most people knew Gordon from his positions in the Richland County Sheriff's Department. He started in dispatch and retired with Captain's bars. He loved hearing stories of how the little things he did made someone's day, several of those stories included how he treated everyone with respect, and he was the best cook at the Sheriff's Department. In 2013 he had a stroke and moved into Fox River Apartments in Olney. For him that was a huge step, as he liked to keep to himself. After being there a couple of months, he made new friends and found several friends that were from Claremont and decided that Fox River was the best place to be and was happy there. It could very well be that they spoiled him with Shrimp on his Birthday and endless supply of Chocolate Ice Cream.

Away from his work, Gordon was a private man. To honor his wishes, there will be no public ceremony. He has requested a cremation and no burial.

He is survived by his daughters, June Clevy of Idaho and Heather (Clevy) Shultz and husband Dewayne of Claremont, IL ; siblings Susan (Steve) Diemer, Dave (Jeannie) Guinnee, and Jim (Hugo) Guinnee; Grandchildren, Cory, Wyn, Adrian, Sierra, Braden, Kyle; Great Grandchildren Deckard and Ava and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gordon was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob; Charles & Marie Clevy; his parents & step-parents; half-sister, Gail Guinnee; step-brother, Johnnie E. Cogswell, Sr.; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Arch/Helia for taking care of him, a special thanks to Maggie, Michelle, Melissa and Stormy working endless hours in the Covid Unit and taking extra time to sit and talk with him and not leaving his side at the end. Thank you to everyone at Fox River for making him feel at home for the past several years.

    Cremation Rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, please spend time with those you love, especially those who can't drive. (And get vaccinated.)

Memorials can be made to Carle-Hospice Richland or the Humane Society of Olney.
