    Hazel Pauline Moseley, 91, of Clay City, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Pavilion Nursing Home Center in Flora.

    Mrs. Moseley was born on April 15, 1912, in Clay County, the daughter of Bunyan and Lucy (Eden) Travis. She married Galen Moseley on December 18, 1929. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2001.

    She was a homemaker.

    Mrs. Moseley is survived by a son, Zane Moseley and his wife, Patsy, of Clay City; a daughter, Judy Ashley, of Clay City; five grandchildren, Bill Moseley, of Kinmundy, Karen Butler, of Hilliard, Ohio, Tim Moseley, of Clay City, Doug Shaffer, of Clay City, and Eric Aumiller, of Clay City; a sister-in-law, Alberta Travis, of Tuscola; and 15 great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Billy, a daughter, Wilma Jean, a granddaughter, Janice Shaffer, and a grandson, Allen Moseley.

    Zane Moseley, 84, of Clay City, died on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at his residence. Zane was born on October 11, 1935 in Clay County, IL, the son of Galen and Hazel (Travis) Moseley. He married Patsy (Herdes) on August 3, 1955 in Shawneetown, IL and she preceded him in death on September 28, 2012.

    Zane worked for IDOT for 34 years as a highway maintainer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tending his property. Zane took pleasure in driving his tractor and helping others start their gardens each year.

    Zane is survived by his son, Tim (Randa) Moseley of Clay City; grandsons, Joshua (Tonya), Jacob, Adam (Tiffany) , and Dustin (Brittany) Moseley; granddaughter, Crystal (Myles) Lewis; step-grandchildren; Justin Clevenger, Keith Clevenger, and Bridget (Larry) Owenby; 17 great grandchildren; and sister, Judy Ashley.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Billy Moseley; and sister, Wilma Shaffer.

    Memorials can be made to St. Jude's Children’s Hospital.

    A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Clay City Cemetery.

In addition to his parents: Timothy Moseley and wife Randa of Clay City and Sheila Kapes and husband Jerry of Centralia, he is also survived by Grandparents Jimmie and Della (Hall) Thomas of Clay City, his three Children: Kayleigh Moseley and Aurora Moseley of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Deacon Moseley of Sandoval: 5 brothers Josh Moseley and wife Tonya of Clay City, Adam Moseley and wife Tiffany of Annapolis, Dustin Moseley and wife Brittany of Sumner, Justin Clevenger of Flora, and Keith Clevenger of Clay City; 4 sisters Kassidy “Kassi” Kapes of Centralia, Bernadette Kapes and fiancé Doug Kinder of Alton, Crystal Lewis and husband Myles of Flora and Bridget Owenby and husband Larry of Vincennes, Indiana; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Zane and Patsy (Herdes) Moseley of Clay City and a beloved cousin, Brandon Bickers of Terre Haute, IN.
    Jake was a disabled combat veteran and proudly served in the Unites States Army as a member of the 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team – Airborne 25th Infantry Division out of Fort Richardson, Alaska and participated in Operation Iraqui Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). He loved spending time with his children, his family and friends, and his four-legged companion Rocco. Hobbies included Harley riding, playing disc golf and listening to alternative red dirt country music. Per Jake’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday May 29, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Centralia American Legion Post 446, 117 South Poplar Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his children and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Jacob’s family.
