    Notes:

Lexi Darlene Duncan, 27, of Clay City, Illinois, lost her battle with drug addiction on Monday, March 15, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. Lexi had expressed her desire to be an organ donor, and her wish was remembered and granted. Because of this, three other individuals were given the gift of life, helping bring comfort and peace to those who loved her.

Lexi was born October 4, 1993, in Centralia, the daughter of Ashley (Phillips) Strausbaugh. She was a graduate of Clay City High school and attended Olney Community College. Lexi’s love of cooking and baking brought much joy to her friends and family. This was especially true when she made pies with a homemade crust from the recipe which had been passed down by her great-grandmother, Lois, who had also taught her how to sew. As Lexi’s sewing skills advanced, she began to personalize her work with a unique and creative style. Lexi’s compassionate and caring heart led her to serve as a caregiver for seniors.

Lexi is survived by her mother and stepfather: Ashley and Travis Strausbaugh; her sisters: Lacey Weller, Livey Bumgarner, and Kayhla Haller; her aunt: Kelley (Aaron) Billiot; grandparents: Earl and Sherry Phillips; and nieces: Vylet Esparza, Eriella Haller, and Amena Haller. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Jack and Lois Sharp and her stepfather: Lowell “Bum” Bumgarner.

There will be no public ceremony. The family wishes to acknowledge your kind and loving thoughts and gestures of sympathy.
