    Notes:

    Services will be conducted in the Memorial Chapel of Summers Funeral Home for Darrell E. McDowell, 57, 318 S. Morgan, who died Friday morning at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

    The Rev. Mike Wilder will officiate. Burial will be at Hanna, northwest of Noble.

    Born May 5, 1925, near Noble, he was the son of Delbert and Estella Daley McDowell, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married July 3, 1957, at Baltimore, Md., to Helen McLean, who survives.

    Mr. McDowell was formerly a heavy construction worker and had last been employed at the ClPS power station at Newton.

    A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion post here as well as the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Olney Lodge No. 140 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

    Besides the widow, survivors include two sons, John and Allen McDowell, both of Olney; a daughter, Mrs. Patti Bogetto, Olney; a brother, Robert McDowell, Olney; and a sister, Virginia Kissen, Bridgeport; one grandchild, Leslie Bogetto, Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews.

    Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank.

    Military Service:
    Served his country June 8, 1943 to March 31, 1946. Achieved the rank of Private First Class and was a truck driver with the 754th Field Artillery Battalion serving in Europe.
