OBITUARY
Harry Dale Habegger, son of Clarence and Naomi Liechty Habegger, was born in Bern [sic], Ind. March 6, 1921. He received his early schooling in the Berne Public Schools and was graduated from Monroe High School in 1940. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Litwiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Litwiller on April 13, 1941. Two children were born to this union.
Harry answered the call to serve his country in April of 1943. He July, 1944 he was sent overseas with the 120th General Hospital and served in New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan. After his discharge in Nov. 1945, he returned to this community and was engaged in farming. In March 1949, he and his family moved to Wheaton, Illinois. In Sept. 1949 he enrolled in the Missionary Technical Course at the Moody Bible Institute. On May 23rd, at 5:20 p.m. Harry went to be with the Lord while pursuing this training. He was also a faithful member of the Evangelical Mennonite Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie, Mary Jane, age 7 and Larry, age 5, of Wheaton, Ill.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Habegger; a brother, Otis, a sister, Sherry of this community; a brother, Arvian, pastor of the Crown Point Bible Church, Crown Point, Ind., and a host of other relatives.
Harry's life verse is Joshua 1:8-9 (Read). Funeral services were conducted by the Pastor Rev. N. J. Schmucker. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
