Mildred J. Worrell, 85, of Flora, died at 10:17 a.m. Thursday, February 3, 2005, at Clay County Hospital in Flora.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Bill Campbell officiating.Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora.

Mrs. Worrell was born on January 9, 1920, in Flora, the daughter of Charles L. and Tillie (Hyndman) McGrew. She married Harry R. Stanford on April 11, 1936, in Odin. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1955. She married George L. Worrell on June 4, 1972, in Olney. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1985.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church in Flora and was a member of A.A.R.P., Clay County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and Flora Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was past president at Flora Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Worrell is survived by three sons, Dick Stanford, Jerry Stanford and his wife, Evelyn, and Bill Stanford and his wife, Jane, all of Flora; a daughter, Sue Petit and her husband, Dave, of Flora; and nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and two brothers, Ed and Rick McGrew.

Mildred married Stanford, Harry Roscoe in 1936. Harry (son of Stanford, George Jackson and Flexter, Silva Arvilla) was born on 24 May 1919 in Illinois; died on 26 Nov 1955; was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, Clay County, Illinois. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Mildred married Worrell, George Luther on 4 Jun 1972 in Olney, Richland County, Illinois. George was born on 19 Jun 1899 in Richland County, Illinois; died on 28 Jul 1985 in Clay County Hospital (Old Location), Flora, Clay County, Illinois; was buried in Haven Hill Cemetery, Olney, Richland County, Illinois. Richard W. "Dick" Stanford, age 76, of Flora, IL passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Flora Rehab & Healthcare Center in Flora.

Dick was born April 16, 1937 in Flora, IL to Harry and Mildred (McGrew) Stanford. He married Kathryn E. "Katie" Stanford on April 23, 1955 in Flora. She preceded him in death on October 6, 2002.

Dick built homes with his brother and later worked in bridge construction throughout the U.S. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #634. Through Mark Shell and Orchardville Church, Dick's faith was strengthened and renewed. Dick was a wonderful man who loved to fish, hunt, and train dogs and enjoyed working in his garden and yard.

He is survived by his soul mate, Ruthee Myers of Flora, who spent ten happy years together; two sons: Rick Stanford of Flora and Randy Stanford (Regina) of Ellettsville, IN; daughter: Chris Pierson (Raymond) of Flora; two brothers: Bill Stanford (Jane) of Flora and Jerry Stanford (Evelyn) of Shannon, MS; sister: Sue Pettit; three grandchildren: Michael (Kelly) Burdine, Hannah Fox, and Nicole Stanford; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

The funeral service for Dick Stanford will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora.

Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
