    Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Nail, age 82, of Pontoon Beach, IL, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home. Kenny was born on September 25, 1941 in Flora, IL, a son of the late Richard and Helen (George) Nail.



    Kenny was a United States Army veteran who proudly served his country with honor. On May 5, 1967, Kenny married Mary Slagley, the love of his life at the Methodist Church in Louisville, IL. He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, IL, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Kenny was also a member of the ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Kenny retired as a parts manager from Erb Equipment in Mitchell, IL, after forty-six years of dedicated service. He enjoyed going fishing and spoiling his grandchildren. Kenny will be remembered as a devoted family man who never met a stranger. He loved life, he loved to laugh, but most of all he loved his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.



    In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Nail.



    Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Mary Nail of Pontoon Beach, IL; dear children, Heather Towell of Morton, IL and Holly (Martin) Clark of Granite City, IL; proud grandfather to Abigail Towell of Morton, IL and Aaron Clark of Granite City, IL; extended family and many wonderful friends.



    In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, IL. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with Pastor Daniel Wilson officiating. Private family interment will be held at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville, IL.



    Memorial donations may be given to Grace Baptist Church. Donations will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
