    Homer, Ill., March 3. (Special) – Mrs. Tennessee Ann Barnes, widow of Samuel E. Barnes and mother of nine children, eight by a first marriage and one by a second, died yesterday at her home here at the age of 80 years.
    Mrs. Barnes was born September 22, 1847, in Tennessee, and came to Illinois when a child of ten years with her parents, Reuben and Mary Wright. She was married in 1873 to John Abbott, who died in 1891, and in 1892 to Emanuel E. Barnes, who died in 1916.
    The children are: Mellie Oglesby, Mondown, Wash., Alice Jordon, Abraham A. Abbott, Mary Abbott and George B. Barnes, Homer. Grace Byrd and Roy Abbott, Decatur; Newman Abbott, Lyndon, Ill., and Percy Abbott, deceased.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Christian church of which Mrs. Barnes had long been a member, with Rev. W. H Hardaker, pastor of the Webber Street Church of Christ, Urbana, officiating. Interment will be made in G.A.R. cemetery.

    Funeral services for Abraham (Abe) Arthur Abbott, 86, lifelong resident of Homer, who died Friday evening at Champaign County Nursing Home, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Jeanes-Kirby Funeral Home in Homer. Allan McMillan will officiate. Burial will be in GAR Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born March 8, 1878, at Homer, the son of John and Anna Wright Abbott. Mr. Abbott is survived by one sister, Mrs. Grace Bird, Decatur; one brother, Reuben Abbott, Walnut; and a half-brother, G. Benton Barnes, Danville.

    Funeral services were conducted for Harry Abbott at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Morehouse funeral Home by Dale Scheffer, minister of the Church of Christ, and interment was made in the GAR cemetery. Mr. Abbott, 75, was born near Homer on August 30, 1880 to John and Ann Wright Abbott. He was married about fifty years ago to Lydia Jane Reffett, and she preceded him in death in April of 1955. Surviving are a son, Herman of Catlin; two brothers, Abe, a resident of the Champaign county Nursing Home, Urbana; and Reuben of Champaign; a sister, Mrs. Grace Bird, of Decatur; and a half-brother, Benton Barnes, at the Veterans’ Administration in Danville. Also two grandchildren.

    Survived by daughters, Stella Munds, Glenna Miller and Mrs. Edmund (Fern) Jones, all of Decatur, Daisy Scroggins of Long Creek, Grace Butchko of Sacramento, Calif. and Floretta Kirkman of Bethany; brother, George Barnes of Marion.
    One daughter, four sons, two sisters, and five brothers preceded her in death.

    Charles Percy Abbott Victim Of Tuberculosis of Stomach
    Homer, April 23 — Charles Percy Abbott died at his home here this morning about 9 o'clock after a short illness of tuberculosis of the stomach. He was born Feb. 12, 1884 at Homer.
    The decedent is survived by his mother, Mrs. E. Barnes, and the following brothers and sisters. Abe and Harry Abbott, of Homer; Reuben of Tolono; Roy and Benton, who are now in France; Mrs. William Ogelsby of the state of Washington; Mrs. Alice Jordan of Homer, and Mrs. Grace Bird of Champaign.
    The funeral will be held from the home on Friday morning. Reverend McEwan will officiate. Burial will be made at the old Homer cemetery.

    Homer—(CNS)—George Benton Barnes, 80, of Homer, died Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 18, 1971) at the Danville Care North Nursing Home. He had been a patient a week.
    Born July 9, 1891, at Homer, he was the son of Manuel and Anna Wright Barnes. He was a veteran of World War I.
    He had resided in Homer until 20 years ago, when he entered the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville. He later was a patient at a nursing home at Golconda.
    He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
    Services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the Kirby Funeral Home, with the Rev. Harold Flessner officiating. Burial will be in Homer GAR Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
