    He lived at 510 S. Fair St. in Olney for the past three years. He had been an electrician for Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Joliet for the past five years. Mr. Wells spent 18 years in the armed forces and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the VFW.

    BIOGRAPHY
    Dorris A. Nickells 95, of Island, Kentucky, formerly of Olney, Illinois, died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro, KY.

    Dorris Arlene Wells was born June 16, 1919 in Olney, Illinois to the late George Washington and Matte Blanch Smith Wells and retired as the supervisor of medical records at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. She was a member of the Olney Church of Christ and a hand tool leather craftsman, who hand constructed Roy Rogers’ horse saddles.

    In addition to her parents, Dorris was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Nickells, and a daughter, Monica Hance.

    Survivors include three sons, Tom Nickells and wife, Vicki of Olney, George Nickells of Vincennes, Indiana, and Bud Nickells of Island; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson.

    Burial was in Haven Hill Cemetery, Richland County.

    Summers-Kistler Funeral Home was in charge.

    She worked at Richland Memorial Hospital in medical records. She was a member of the Clay City Baptist Church and was also a member of the Clay City Rebekah Lodge.

    She is survived by her mother, Dorris Nickells of Olney; her grandmother, Mattie Wells of Olney; two sons, James Hance Jr. of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Shawn Hance of Clay City; three brothers, Bud Nickells of Island, Ky., George Nickells of Vincennes, Ind. and T.J. Nickells of Olney; and two grandchildren.

    Hance was preceded in death by her husband and father.

    Tom "T. J. " Nickells, 72, of Olney, died on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.

    T.J. was born on March 10, 1947 in Olney, IL, the son of Thomas Joseph and Dorris (Wells) Nickells.

    He married Vicki Lynn Pelton on January 30, 1975 and she survives.

    T.J. had a big heart and loved the Lord, his family, his church family, and friends dearly! He was known for his sense of humor. He was an avid fisherman and teller of tall tales and he never met a stranger.

    T.J. is survived by his wife, Vicki Lynn Nickells, of Olney; son, Tom Thomas and wife Shari, of Robinson, IL; brothers, George Nickells of Vincennes, IN and Bud Nickells of Island, KY; grandchildren, Tara Titsworth and Jonathan of Vincennes, IN, Katie Thomas and fiancé Josh Shipman of Robinson, IL, Luke Thomas of Robinson, IL, and Josh Thomas of Robinson, IL; and great-grandson, Alistair Titsworth.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Monica Hance.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Full Military Rites will be held at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
