    Mina (Moseley) Newton, 94, of Olney, Illinois, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

    Mina was born on May 30, 1927 in Clay City, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Clinton and Helen Madeline (Evans) Moseley. She married Donovan Newton on July 29, 1946 in Richland County, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2011.

    In her earlier years, Mina enjoyed being a farmer’s wife, square dancing and bowling. She took pleasure in working alongside her husband on the farm and raising her family of six children. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and time spent with family. Sundays were always a house full of faith, family, food, and laughter. Mina had a strong faith in the Lord and prayed for her family and friends.

    She was a member of Antioch Christian Church.

    Mina is survived by her Son, Donald Wayne (Jayne) Newton of Noble; Daughter, Karen (Bob) Totten of Noble; Daughter, Sherry (Leon) Wilson of Olney; Son, Kevin Newton of Noble; Son, Kenneth Newton of Noble; Son, Charles (Nancy) Newton of Olney. 18 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rita Keck; sister, Viola Fehrenbacher; sister, Vera Rinnert; brother, Richard Moseley.

    A graveside funeral service for Mina will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Olive Branch Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow the service.

    Memorials can be made to Carle Center for Philanthropy (write Carle Hospice-Olney on memo line if donating by check) or Antioch Christian Church.

    She was preceded in death by her father, one son, and step-father.

    Services were held at Hosselton, Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City.

    Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery.

    Mrs. RINNERT was born in Clay City on May 10, 1932, the daughter of Charlie and Helen Madeline MOSELEY. She married Marvin RINNERT in 1961, he died in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Vincennes, Ind.

    She is survived by her mother, Helen MOSELEY of Vincennes, Ind.; five sons, Joey MACK and Charles MACK of Vincennes, Ind., Jerald RINNERT and Richard RINNERT of Orlando, Fla., and Rodney RINNER of Livermoore, Calif.; one brother, Richard MOSELEY of St. Charles, Mo.; two sisters, Mina NEWTON of Noble, and Viola FEHRENBACHER of Gilbertsville, Ky.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her father, husband, and one sister.
