    Robert M. Decker, 91, was a son of Loren and Beatrice Warren Decker. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Neil and Max Decker. He married Peggy Gharst in Effingham, Illinois on June 5, 1955. She survives.

    He is also survived by five children, Michael and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mark and wife Terri of Champaign; Dwight and wife Barb of Forest Park; Danita and husband Bill Heilenbach of Western Springs and Eric and wife Christine of Downs; seventeen grandchildren; a brother, Dan Powell of Flora and a sister, Karen Sue Pearson of Splendora, Texas.

    He served in the US Army in the 81st Calvary Reconnaissance Mechanized Squadron, First Armored Division. He served in the Tunisian campaign in North Africa, including the battle of Kasserine Pass. He served in the Italian campaign, including Naples, Rome, Arno, the North Apennines and Po Valley.

Earned The Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and The Army f Occupations Medal (Japan). Honorably discharged for the second time as a Private First Class on January 19, 1947 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan.
