Lois Stanley, 85, of Clay City, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Lois was born June 29, 1936 in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Gaylord A. Gill and Bonnie E. (Frank) Gill. She married Dale Eugene Stanley on December 19, 1954 in Clay City, Illinois.

Lois was a secretary and bookkeeper at the Clay City Grade School and the Clay City Village Hall, until she retired. Lois enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of all her flowers and shrubs. She crocheted and made the most beautiful doilies. She also loved to cook and bake and no one left her house hungry. She and Dale enjoyed several winters in Okeechobee, FL. They also enjoyed camping with friends and family. After many years of having to listen to St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball, she finally decided if you can't beat them, join them and became a huge fan and watched every game with Dale. She will be especially remembered for the love she had for her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her Husband of 67 years, Dale Eugene Stanley; Daughter, Dalena (Greg) Sapp of Dietrich, IL; Daughter, Diana (Rodney) Fish of Effingham, IL; Son, Brad Stanley of Columbia, IL; Grandchildren, Brent (Sharon) Edwards, Brigette (Danny) Ziadeh, Nathan Westergard, Aedan Stanley, Dylan Stanley; Great Grandchildren, Kiara Westergard and Tyler Edwards; Brothers, Jim Gill and Jerry (Martine) Gill; and Brother-in-law, Jim Cash; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Doris Mae Poppe (Gill) and her husband Jack, and Marilyn Kaye Cash (Gill), and sister-in-law, Carolyn Gill.
