    Arthur Fulk, 79, of Noble died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Noble with Pastor Doyle Williams officiating. Burial in Noble Cemetery.

    Arthur was born on August 6,1933 in Noble, the son of Peter & Stella (Scherer) Fulk.

    He married Joann Wells on February 16,1952 in Noble. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2009.

    Arthur had worked for Prairie Farms. He was a coin collector and coin hunter who spent many hours with his metal detector in search of rare coins. Arthur was also a fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. He loved his grandchildren and watching them grow up.

    He is survived by his son, Bill Fulk and wife Cindy of Belleville, IL, son, Gary Fulk of Noble, daughter, Cindy Baize and husband Danny of Noble, brother, William Fulk, sister, Pauline Thomason, sister, Lemora VanDyke, sister, Shelby Snider and grandchildren, Sarah Fulk, Elena Fulk, Josh Fulk, Austin Rhoads and Haley Rhoads.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57years Joann Fulk, son David Leo Fulk, grandson Adam Ross Fulk and infant brother Franklin R. Fulk.

    Arthur married Wells, Carolyn Joan on 16 Feb 1952 in Noble, Richland County, Illinois. Carolyn (daughter of Wells, William Alvin and Gregg, Ida Mae) was born on 2 Oct 1934 in Mount Erie, Wayne County, Illinois; died on 27 Oct 2009 in Richland County Memorial Hospital, Olney, Richland County, Illinois; was buried on 30 Oct 2009 in Noble Prairie Cemetery, Noble, Richland County, Illinois.     Tragedy struck in the village of Noble at about 8:50 p.m. Thursday, when two Noble High School Students were killed instantly, and three other young people were injured in a car-train collision.

    Killed were David L. Fulk, 16, of Noble a junior, and Stormy W. Greenwood. 16, of Olney Rt. 3, a senior.

    Greenwood was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Greenwood. Greenwood is believed to have been the driver, and Fulk, son of Arthur and Joan Fulk, was apparently riding in the right front seat.

    Injured were Gary Fulk, 12, of Noble, brother of David; Bruce Wells 15, of Noble; and Cary Kosack, 15, of Olney.

    The collision occurred at the first crossing west of the depot in Noble, at a three-track crossing.
