    Dorothy Wilkins, 89, of Louisville, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2003, at her home.

    Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Willetta Pilcher officiating..

    Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs.

    Mrs. Wilkins was born on December 29, 1913, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Bert and Gertrude Belle (Cummings) Rosenberg.

    She married Cecil C. Wilkins on March 6, 1935, in Louisville. He survives.

    She was a cook for Clay County Hospital in Flora for 17 years, retiring in 1978.
    She was a member of Sailor Springs Christian Church and a member of Louisville Rebekah Lodge, Garden Club and Clay County Home Extension.

    She was an avid square dancer.

    Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her husband, Cecil Wilkins, of Louisville; a son, Howard Wilkins, of Saint Peter; three daughters, Carol Jean O'Dell and her husband, Jimmy L., of Louisville, Doris Pflaum and her husband, Bill, of Clay City, and Ruby Parker and her husband, Kenneth, of Splendora, Texas; a sister, Vida E. Murbarger, of Clay City; seven grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one daughter-in-law and one great-grandson.

    Vida was born July 3, 1919, in Wayne County, the daughter of Bert and Gertrude (Cummins) Rosenberg. She married Leo Murbarger on February 16, 1938, in Clay City. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1987.

    Vida was a lifelong member of Clay City United Methodist Church. She was also a part of United Methodist Women, Walk to Emmaus, The Rebeccas, and Flora Golf and Country Club.

    She loved God, her family, and friends. She loved traveling, golfing, music, playing cards, fishing, cooking, and reading, especially the Bible.

    She is survived by daughter, Marilyn (Steve) Helburn; daughter, Phyllis (Jim) Koss; daughter, Carolyn (Larry) Sunday; grandchildren, Trudy and David Hunley, Brad and Sarah Ausbrook, Duane Ausbrook, Stephanie Helburn, James Helburn, Tory and Scott Wilson, Jami and Ray Melton, Joey Sunday, and J.R. and Melanie Sunday; brother-in-law, Neil Murbarger; sister-in-laws, Retha Murbarger and Marjorie Murbarger; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Shirley Ausbrook, son-in-law, Red Ausbrook, brothers, George and Walter Rosenberg, sister, Dorothy Wilson, six brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

    Funeral services were held at Clay City Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Canada officiating.

    Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery. Summers-Kistler Funeral Home was in charge.

    Memorials may be made to Village of Clay City, specified for cemetery upkeep, or Clay City United Methodist church.

    Shirley J. Ausbrook of Clay City, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

    Shirley was born on February 3, 1939 in Clay City, IL to Leo and Vida E. Murbarger. She married Arthur E. "Red" Ausbrook on January 24, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2011.

    Shirley's career was a teacher in the Clay City Unit 10 School District from 1971 to 1995 where she influenced 1,000's of students. She was a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church.

    She is survived by her mother, Vida E. Murbarger; children, Trudy Hunley, Brad Ausbrook, and Leo Duane Ausbrook; sisters: Marilyn Helburn, Phyllis Koss, and Carolyn Sunday; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Murbarger, and husband, Red Ausbrook.

    The funeral service for Shirley was held at the Clay City United Methodist Church in Clay City, IL.

    Burial followed in the Clay City Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to Clay City Fire Department or Clay City United Methodist Church.

    Shirley married Ausbrook, Arthur E. 'Red' on 24 Jan 1958.     Dale Wayne Pflaum, 61, of Clay City, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at his home.

    Dale was born September 22, 1962 in Richland County, Illinois, the son of Billy Gene and Doris (Wilkins) Pflaum.

    Dale enjoyed animals, he raised goats and he owned several Siberian Huskies. He took pleasure in hunting with his father and family trips to Kentucky Lake. Dale enjoyed watching sports and was a diehard Cubs Fan. He enjoyed attending hockey games with his best friend, Edward Hegedus. He also liked watching the Bears and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dale loved his family and looked out for everyone. He had a special relationship with his niece, Alexis, who he called "Pookie". Dale was a member of the First Christian Church of Noble and was very knowledgeable about biblical scripture. Dale's smile and loving kindness will be missed by all those who knew him.

    Dale is survived by his parents, Bill and Doris Pflaum of Clay City; sister, Kim Rothrock and husband Mark of Parkersburg; niece, Alexis McFarland and husband John of Parkersburg.

    He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

    A funeral service will be held for Dale at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

    Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Parkersburg
