Jack worked as an electrician for 55+ years and was a member of the IBEW in Terre Haute. He was a devoted husband and loving father and took pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren. Jack and his wife, Bonnie, enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage together. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed coon hunting. He learned to play banjo and other instruments after he retired.

Jack married Ashworth, Bonnie Bell on 25 Jul 1953 in Claremont, Richland County, Illinois. Bonnie (daughter of Ashworth, Albert M. and Fritschle, Blanche) was born on 2 Nov 1933; died on 26 Jun 2013 in Claremont, Richland County, Illinois; was buried in Crest Haven Memorial Park, Claremont, Richland County, Illinois. Notes:

Jimmie lived life to the fullest and lived in several of the biggest cities in America. After settling in St. Louis we would transit from there to Claremont caring for his parents. He loved to vacation in Mexico and learned the Spanish language. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a very genuine personality. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening and especially loved to grow banana trees. He will be sorely missed by his family.
