    The service for Edward Junior Holcomb will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Don Tines will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Edward left this world Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at the age of 83 years and 8 months. He was living in Lahoma, Okla. He was born to Edward Clarence and Viola Grace (Tucker) Holcomb on April 14, 1926, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He married Mona Luceil Vail Dec. 4, 1945, in Morganfield, Ky. He was in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 12, 1944, until May 8, 1946, during WWII. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in the southwest Pacific area on Feb. 16, 1945. He has had a variety of careers during his life. He has been a painter, a type setter, a cab driver, a driller in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas, an auto body repairman, a carpenter and he retired as a custodian for Lahoma Public Schools. He was named Lahoma Citizen of the Year in 2007 by the Lahoma Lions Club. After his retirement, he repaired mowers and bicycles. He donated many bicycles to the Salvation Army and different organizations for children at Christmas, and he gave away bicycles to children and adults who came to his home asking for them. He was very talented and did paintings, wood carving, made furniture, model drilling rigs, cars, tractors, trucks, and trains. He is survived by five children, Garry and Susan Holcomb, Ann Archer, Deborah Swinford of Enid, Edward Allen Holcomb and companion, Patsy Hughes of Lahoma, and Gayla Taggart of Texas; two sisters, Betty Thomas of Lahoma, and Bonnie and Bob Roe; one brother, Bob and Ruth Holcomb; six sisters-in-law, Wanda Brinkley, Phyllis Vail, Jane Holcomb, Rajean and Hunter Connell, Floretta and Jerry Hilderbrand and Pauline Holcomb, all of Illinois; one brother-in-law, Wiley and Virginia Vail of Enid; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Three of his grandchildren are in the service of our country at this time: Staff Sgt. Edward Christopher Holcomb is in Afghanistan, Tech Sgt. Angela Dawne Archer is a nurse at the Pentagon and Tech Sgt. Matthew Norance Holcomb is an aircraft mechanic in Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luceil; his parents; three brothers; two sisters; six sisters-in-law; and seven brothers-in-law.     Bob G. Holcomb, 79, of Chadwick, died Saturday, May 21, 2011, at his home. He was a maintenance man with Batavia Schools for 5 years.

    He was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Patoka, Ind., the son of Clarence Edward and Viola Grace Holcomb. He married Ruth Staley on July 1, 1972, in Batavia. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a prisoner of war for 3 years.

    Survivors include his wife; his children, Jamie (Richard) Chapman of Tucson, Ariz., Bob(Kathy) Holcomb Jr. of Pell City, Ala., Pam Holcomb of Colorado, Joni Staley of Chadwick, Jerri Staley Reynolds of Lisle, Cindy Holcomb of Minneapolis, Janice Staley Calhoun of Milledgeville, James Robert (Becky) Staley of Elburn, and Jay Staley of Sycamore; sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Roe of Salem and Betty Thomas of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

    Cremation rites have been accorded. Services have been held. Arrangements were completed McDonald Funeral Home, Milledgeville.

He later married Donna Wanhala Sept. 3, 1964. They lived in the Carmen area 32 years. He was a self-employed carpenter. He also had worked in the oil field. He was a member of Carmen American Legion. Surviving are his wife, oen daughter, Rhonda & Lee Ryker of Illinois, two brothers, Bobby & Ruth Holcomb of Illinois and Edward Holcomb of Lahoma, Ok., two sisters, Bonnie & Bob Roe of Salem, Illinois and Betty Thomas of Lahoma, Ok., three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Art and Fred Holcomb, and two sisters, Cherrie McCaig and Inez Newman.

    Notes:

    The family moved several times and eventually ended up in Enid. Debbie graduated from Enid High in 1969 and took a culinary arts class at OT Autry Vo-tech in its opening year.

    She married Roy Swinford and had two children, Tammy and Adam. Debbie later lived in Bittburg, Germany, with her family and was able to travel throughout Europe one summer with her husband and parents. Upon returning to Enid, Debbie worked at Laahoma Public schools as a bus driver and custodian and later at Lowe's. She was employee of the month several times and Employee of the year in 2000. Debbie retired early because of health issues. She loved Bingo and at times the casino. She also enjoyed cross stitch, puzzles and logic games.

    Most of all she loved and enjoyed her family. Life wasn't always easy for Debbie but she would take the lemons and make lemonade whenever she could.

    David Kent Frank, 70, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017, at his home in Evansville. He was born March 9, 1947, in Clay City, IL, to the late Galen Frank and Inez (Holcomb) Neumann.

    He earned his Real Estate license in 1995 at the University of Evansville, and his Associates Degree at IECC. Dave served his country in the U.S. Army on the European front. He was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed fishing with his grandkids. You would often find Dave tinkering on his truck, boating and water skiing. He was also known for his love of animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved joking with his grandkids, and he always looked forward to his daily lunches with his daughter, Brittany.

    Dave was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tabitha Frank; sisters, Beverly and Debbie Frank; niece, Sondra Schnepper; and best friend, James Partridge.

    He is survived by sons, Kristo Altenon, Michael Frank (Kathy), Jason Frank; and daughters, Felicity Olivier (Tom) and Brittany Frank. Dave was married to Rose Dulaney of Flora, IL and later to his life-long companion, Crystal Frank. He is also survived by grandchildren, Trenton Frank, Garrett Frank, Vincent Frank, Blaise Roberts, Trishton Olivier, Aussie Olivier; great grandkids, Chandler and Blaise, Jr.; and brothers, Paul Neumann, Sam Frank, Bill Frank, Chris Frank, Richard Frank, Candra Frank; and sister, Naomi Frank Bangert.

    Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Clay City, IL, where Military Honors will be performed. Friends may visit 2-3 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. There will be a gathering to celebrate David's life following the services.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

    A one-year-old girl was killed and five other persons injured in a collision of a compact auto and a farm tractor early Sunday on a Clay City road four miles north of Clay City.

    Sandra Lynn Schnepper is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Schnepper; grandparents, Mrs. Inez Newman, Galen Frank, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Schnepper, all of Clay City; great-grandparents, Mrs Laura Schnepper of Sailor Springs, Sam Frank of Clay City and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Holcomb of Flora.
    Private funeral services will be held at the Easley-Padgett Funeral
    Home in Clay City. Friends may call at the funeral home.
