    Cecil C. Wilkins, 93, of Louisville, IL died at 7:37 AM Sunday, September 12, 2010 at his home in Louisville, IL.

    He was born December 18, 1916 in Clay County, Illinois to Elmer E. & Delia (Robinson) Wilkins. He married Dorothy Rosenberg on March 6, 1935 in Louisville. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2003.

    He was an area farmer, was also retired from Fedder's in Effingham, and owned and operated a grocery store in Sailor Springs and the "Cozy Cage" in Noble. He attended Clay City Christian Church and belonged to the Sailor Springs Christian Church where he served as an elder and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. Cecil was a member of Clay County Farm Bureau and was the Pixley Township Clerk for 13 years. He is survived by 1 son: Howard Wilkins of Louisville; 3 daughters: Carol Jean O'Dell & husband Jimmy L. of Louisville, Doris Pflaum & husband Bill of Clay City, Ruby Parker & husband Kenneth of Bellville; 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 1 great-grandson, and 1 sister Vivian R. Sullens.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday (September 16, 2010) at Clay City Christian Church with Darrel Brandon officiating.

    Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice or Clay City Christian Church.

    Vivian R. Sullens, 84, of Clay City, IL, died May 11, 2005, at Richland Care and Rehab in Olney.

    Mrs. Sullens was born November 18, 1920, in Clay County, the daughter of Elmer and Delia Robinson Wilkins. She married Merlin Sullens October 13, 1939 in Henderson, KY.

    She was owner/operator of Vivian's Cafe in Clay City and worked at the Ranch Motel in Flora. She was a member of Clay City Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronald L. Sullens; a brother, Cecil Wilkins; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

    Preceding her in death were her parents; a step-granddaughter; and her mother-in-law, Sophie Wilfong.

    Funeral services were held at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in the Clay City Cemetery.

    Notes:

    Ron L. Sullens, 64, of Olney formerly of Flora, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

    Ron was born on October 18, 1949 in Flora, Illinois, the son of Merlin Sullens and Vivian (Wilkins).

    He is survived by three Sons, Scott Sullens , Steven Easton, and Shannon Sullens; two Daughters, Tracy Dunne and husband Mark and Stacey Stephens; 15 grandchildren also survive.

    He was preceded in death by his parents.

    Cremation Rites were accorded. A private family gathering in Ron's honor will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family of Ron Sullens.

    The Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements.

    Dale Wayne Pflaum, 61, of Clay City, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at his home.

    Dale was born September 22, 1962 in Richland County, Illinois, the son of Billy Gene and Doris (Wilkins) Pflaum.

    Dale enjoyed animals, he raised goats and he owned several Siberian Huskies. He took pleasure in hunting with his father and family trips to Kentucky Lake. Dale enjoyed watching sports and was a diehard Cubs Fan. He enjoyed attending hockey games with his best friend, Edward Hegedus. He also liked watching the Bears and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Dale loved his family and looked out for everyone. He had a special relationship with his niece, Alexis, who he called "Pookie". Dale was a member of the First Christian Church of Noble and was very knowledgeable about biblical scripture. Dale's smile and loving kindness will be missed by all those who knew him.

    Dale is survived by his parents, Bill and Doris Pflaum of Clay City; sister, Kim Rothrock and husband Mark of Parkersburg; niece, Alexis McFarland and husband John of Parkersburg.

    He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

    A funeral service will be held for Dale at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney, with a visitation beginning one hour before service time at the funeral home.

    Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in rural Parkersburg
