    Notes:

    Editha L. Peebles, 90, of Louisville, died at 6:09 p.m. Sunday Sept. 22, 1996, at her home.

    Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Clay City, with Bro. Larry Schnautz officiating. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    Memorials can be made to Sailor Springs Christian Church.

    Peebles was born Feb. 7, 1906, in Sailor Springs, the daughter of J.E. and Temperance Charlotte (Bryne) Payne. She married Orland Golden in 1928. She then married Wesley Peebles in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1984.

    She was a retired LPN at Manteno State Hospital in Manteno. She was a member of Sailor Springs Christian Church and order of the Eastern Star-Dorcas Chapter #5 in Manteno.

    She is survived by a sister, Lola Taylor, of Vincennes, Ind.; four nieces, Shirley Harrison Porter, of Louisville, Carolyn Harrison Woodruff, of Pawnee, Audrey Harrison Miller, of Clay City, and Rosemary Taylor Shaft, of Vincennes, Ind.; two nephews, Clarence Harrison, of Clay City, and Don Taylor of Chatham; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and many cousins.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, a son, thrree brothers and two sisters.

    Richard D. Golden, 54, Bloomington, died at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday in Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington.

    Services will be in the Cardascio Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs.

    Mr. Golden was born Sept. 11, 1928 in Flora, the son of Orland and Edithe (Payne) Golden.

    He was a maintenance man for Illinois State University at Normal, and was a veteran of the US Navy.

    Survivors include his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Pebles of Bloomington.

    He was preceded in death by his father.
