She worked as an associate at the Shoe Factory in Olney and in the cafeteria at Richland Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Eureka Church of Christ. She also was a member of the Olney VFW and the American Legion. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Josephine married Harmon, Lowell Vernon on 5 Dec 1942. Lowell (son of Harmon, Vern 'Vernie' and Clodfelter, Mabel I.) was born on 12 Feb 1923 in Richland County, Illinois; died on 1 May 1945 in Germany; was buried in Eureka Cemetery, Claremont, Richland County, Illinois.
