While in Indianapolis, Waneda worked at P. R. Mallery making decoders for submarines, to help in the war effort.

After the war, Denver and Waneda moved to Clay City, Illinois where Denver worked for the Pure Oil Company and Waneda began to demonstrate her considerable skills in homemaking, cooking, and gardening. Four of their five children were born while they lived there. In 1959 the family moved to Bloomfield, Indiana where another child was born.

Waneda supported her children in all of their activities as they grew. She was a tremendous mother who cared and sacrificed for her children. In addition to these most important responsibilities, Waneda was a dessert chef at the Landing restaurant and manager and cook at Pielemeier's Drugs in-store restaurant. In addition, she worked as a cashier at the Ben Franklin Variety Store. As grandchildren arrived, Waneda gave up "outside" jobs to care for her grandchildren. She exhibited the same loving care that she had given her children.

Christmas was Waneda's favorite holiday. She always made sure that her family experienced the love and joy of the season. However, the family celebrated every holiday and birthday in grand style.

Waneda attended the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir for many years. She truly loved the church and the friends she has there.

Waneda will be sadly, sadly missed by all.

Waneda married Childers, Denver W. 'Poss' on 1 Jun 1942 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. Denver (son of Childers, Abijah Bige and Bird, Gertrude) was born on 14 Sep 1924 in Patton Hill, Lawrence County, Indiana; died on 26 Jul 1996 in Bloomington Hospital, Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana; was buried in Gosport Cemetery, Gosport, Owen County, Indiana. Marlene "Sue" Adams, 83, of Noble gained her well-deserved angel wings at her home surrounded by the love of her life, Everett, and four children. Those words were bound to come, but it doesn't make it any easier to hear. Everett brought her home to the farm to get her back to that gravel road so she could pass in comfort.

The gates welcomed a very lovely, inspiring angel on September 25, 2021.

Sue Adams was born November 17, 1937 in Chauncey, IL to Fred Amerman and Nila (Smith) Amerman. She graduated from Clay City High School. On Feb. 14, 1957, she married the love of her life, Everett Adams. Everett took the city girl to the farm where she loved nature, the land and her family. She worked for her father at Amerman Insurance Agency, but quickly grew to love being a farmer's wife.

Sue was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and did not hesitate to tell others of her love for her Lord and church family.

As a member of the Home Extension she enjoyed cooking, homemaking skills and quilting. Sue was a 4-H Leader with the art of inspiring the young minds to gain valuable knowledge and responsibilities in life. The Backyard Bloomers was a favorite club where she expanded her love of both vegetable and flower gardening. Sue was an accomplished painter bringing her love of nature and artistic talents to life on the canvas. She taught painting classes with her grandson, Justin, and mother, Nila being her favorite students. Every paint class was sure to be a fun social event.

Sue and Everett enjoyed traveling the backroads of this great country from Alaska, to Hawaii and the east coast to the west. Sue especially enjoyed her adventures with her mother, sisters, and sister-in-law Erna.

Sue Adams was one of the most loving, kind and giving persons in the community. She was full of spirit and enjoyed laughing and giving her well known hugs. She will be remembered for her role in the Annual May Day parade spreading joy as a clown passing candy and smiles along the route. She was also known for her optimistic personality, always looking on the bright side. She encouraged others to be happy and "put on rose colored
glasses." Her children and grandchildren will never forget her words of wisdom, one of her favorites being "never go to bed angry, love is a gift." Everett built the cabin of her dreams in the family woods. Sue and Everett hosted many gatherings in their favorite place, the Adams Cabin. Everyone looked forward to their annual Pickin' and Grinnin' Fish Fry. Even if there was a downpour, Wedge would bring an "ole Minne" to pull a stuck vehicle out of the mud. The highlight of the day was The Prosser Gang and their Bluegrass music enjoyed by as many as 200 guests both family and friends. All guests were anxious to enjoy Sue's culinary skills as she made the perfect pies. The Adams Cabin cookbook evolved from some of the best recipes enjoyed by all.

Sue is survived by her amazing husband of 64 years Everett Adams, four children Ronald and Janey Adams, Connie and Ron Waldrop, Robert and Tara Adams, Tony and Marla Adams, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was one of eight children.

She is survived by brothers, Vance and wife Loretta Amerman, and Jerry and wife Pilar Amerman; sisters, Lila and husband John Deaton, and Aleta Clontz; sister-in-laws, Erna Amerman, Phyllis Amerman, and Lesta Amerman; Sue and Everett were a favorite Aunt and Uncle to many nieces and nephews. She was welcomed into her heavenly home by her parents, Fred and Nila Amerman and three brothers, Fred, Ronnie and Terry Amerman and brother-in-law Jim Clontz.

Interment will take place on September 28, 2021 at Wesley Cemetery, Noble, IL.
