    Enlisted in the Navy on October 23, 1943. After training at Camp Perry, Virginia served with the Sea Bees 76th Naval Construction Battalion, Company A, Second Platoon in the Pacific Theater of Operations as a Carpenter's Mate First Class. Landed on the Island of Guam five days after it was secured by the Marines. Engaged in building airstrips, docks and warehouses. Honorably discharged on December 16, 1945.
