    Notes:

    Eliza Payne, 89 years of age, a former resident of Shoals, IN died Friday at her home in Clay city, ILL She had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for the past three weeks. Miss Payne was a daughter of John E. Elizabeth (Abel) Payne of Orange County, and was born October 25, 1854. She came with her parents to this county where she resided until the past 20 years. She is well known here. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Charles Meyers of Shoals, IN, Mrs. Fannie Van Note of Los Angeles, CA., and one brother, William J. Payne of Clay City, IL. Funeral services were held at Clay City Sunday with burial at that place.

    her sister, Mrs. Charles Myers, went to Clay City Saturday returning Sunday night. Feb 10, 1944.
