    Perry was an Army Veteran serving during WWII, a member of the Flora American Legion, the Flora Kiwanis Club and he loved to go fishing.

    Military Service:
    Entered active service as a draftee on April 21, 1943 at Chicago, Illinois. Selected for the Corps of Engineers, completed basic training, and qualified in the military occupational specialty of Light Truck Driver (MOS 345). Assigned to and served with the 247th Engineer Combat Battalion which departed the Continental U.S. on January 18, 1944 bound for the European Theater of Operations. Fought in the Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns. Honorably discharged as a Private First Class on October 24, 1945 at the Separation Center, Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 silver battle star, and the WWII Victory Medal.

    Perry C. Reeves, 86, of Flora died at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2001 at the Flora Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

    Buried:
    Graveside services were held at the Clay City Cemetery with Rev.Dean Brown officiating. Interment will follow.

    Military honors will be conducted by the Flora American Legion Post #14. There will be no visitation.

    Perry married PRUITT, Opal in 1985. Opal (daughter of PRUITT, Charles Rubien and Rockhold, Ora G.) was born on 9 Jan 1927 in Flora, Clay County, Illinois; died on 30 Nov 2013 in Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, Mount Vernon, Jefferson County, Illinois; was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, Clay County, Illinois.
