    Notes:

    Bernette P. Weidner, 85, of Louisville, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007, at Flora Health Care Center in Flora.

    Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dillman Cemetery in Sailor Springs.

    Mrs. Weidner was born August 12, 1921, in Gary, Ind., the daughter of Howard Matthew Phillips and Anna Martha (Banker) Phillips. She married George L. Weidner on December 30, 1944, in Flora. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2002.

    She was a retired second-grade teacher in North Clay, where she taught for 35 years. She was a member of Louisville Baptist Church. She was also a member of Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Clay City Eastern Star, Sailor Springs American Legion Auxiliary and Clay City American Legion Auxiliary. She was a lifetime member of Sailor Springs Historical Society. She enjoyed farm life, gardening, cooking, housekeeping, bird watching, animals, children and her family.

    Mrs. Weidner is survived by sons, Nelson Weidner and his wife, Nancy, of Louisville, and Neil Weidner and his wife, Shannon, of Louisville; daughter, Rita Weidner, of Louisville, Marsha Blair, of Flora, and Cathi Bailey and her husband, Rick, of Louisville; grandchildren, Mandy Turner and her husband, Chad, Matt Weidner and Aubrey Harper, Christine Wiley, Hope Blair, Gabe Blair, and Colton, Dylan and Lexi Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Stormie, Bo, Jada, Dalton, McKenzie and Briar.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson, Donald.

    Memorials may be made to the Gillion Baret Association.

    Notes:

    George Nelson Weidner, age 60, of Louisville, IL passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at his home in Louisville.

    He was born July 1, 1952 in Flora, IL to George L. and Bernette (Phillips) Weidner. He married Nancy Pierson on September 29, 1972 in Hoosier Prairie.

    Nelson was retired from family farming and enjoyed mushroom hunting and finding an opportunity to fish. He was a member of Flora Sons of American Legion and the VFW. Nelson will be remembered for his friendships and the times he enjoyed with family.

    He is survived by a daughter: Amanda Lynn Weidner; a son: George Matthew Weidner; a brother: Neil (Shannon) Weidner; 3 sisters: Rita Weidner, Marsha Blair, Cathi (Rick) Bailey; along with special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew (Donald Blair).

    The funeral service for Nelson Weidner was at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Bural was in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs.

    Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
