Mildred I. Boston, 85, of Liberal, KS formerly of Xenia, IL died at 1:53 PM Monday, November 12, 2007 at Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, KS.

She was born May 19, 1922 in Effingham County, IL to William Franklin & Florence Isabelle (Cornwell) Walker. She married Charley Andrew Boston on November 21, 1965 in Xenia. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2000.

She was a past nurses aide and later provided local babysitting services. Mildred was a member of the Xenia Christian Church, the Christian Church Ladies Aide, and she also enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her daughter: Shelby Jean Worthey & husband Donald of Liberal, KS; grandchildren: Chris Worthey & wife Nancy of Kismet, KS, Michael Worthey & wife Jeanne of Marion, IA and Sandra Lloyd of Clearwater, FL; great-grandchildren: Kristen Lloyd, and Mikale, Charley & Madeline Worthey; brother: Charles Walker of Greenville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter (Vicki Lynn Boston), six brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Xenia, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church Benevolence Fund of Liberal, KS.

Shelby J. Worthey, 67, Died, Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Kindred Hospital in Amarillo, Tx.

She was born April 29, 1946 in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Charley Andrew Boston and Mildred (Corry). She graduated from Seward County community college in 1984 obtaining her LPN in nursing. On February 11, 1961 she married Donald Ray Worthey in Xenia, Illinois, he preceeded her in death on December 31, 2012. She was formally employed by Wheatridge Park Care Center and Good Samaritan Society of Liberal as an LPN and office nurse. She retired from Southwest Medical Center on December 18, 2001

She was a member of Central Christian Church – Liberal

Notes:

Criss went to school in Xenia and Flora, IL. He competed his junior and senior year in Syracuse, KS, where he met his wife Nancy Jo Hubbard. They were married Sept. 19, 1981. They lived in Goodland where he earned a degree in carpentry from NWKS Area Vo-Tech.
Criss built houses and fine cabinetry for a few years and then went to MMI in Phoenix and earned a degree in motorcycle mechanics. He then went on to DCP Helium Corp. in Liberal and worked there for 25 years. He also worked at SWCO road and bridge and as a sexton at Restlawn Cemetery. He loved caring for the flowers, and grass which he kept in pristine condition, earning him many heartfelt compliments. He loved the solace and peace that the work brought and the friendships he made working there.
Criss loved bass fishing in the lakes of Illinois, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. He loved riding his Harley and took several cross country trips. He loved the comradery of the riders whether in the Harley dealership or on rides. Of course most of his time was spent among his beloved family and friends. He was always volunteering to help his kids, friends, and strangers with any task they needed help with.
He was looking forward to the birth of his two grandsons on Dec. 6. He will be missed greatly and never forgotten.
